Goal: Day Eight

Pages written: 101
Pages proof read: 38
Pages to go: 199
Days remaining: 125 days

No, your eyes are fine there is a day missing. On day Seven aka August 29th/yesterday I did not write on my blog. In fact for the first time in a long time I felt great and needed to take a time out so my BFF Laycie and I went to the library, the local water park, Seven Peaks, went to Borders to buy a new Twilight book (Defining Twilight), colored and cut my hair all the while having a blast. Aside from my mini-day-vacation yesterday I was fully and forcfully back to work on my project today/tonight. So Saturday + Day of Fun = no proof read pages, sad but totally worth it.

Tonight I feel I made great progress and completed 18 pages of proof reading...not bad if I do say so myself. I have to admit I'm getting a little nervous about the time frame, amount pages still to proof read and all the ones left to write but I'm determined to make it. I'm definately thinking I'm going to deserve something AMAZING for completing this task...any ideas fans? Let me know if you can think of anything fun. Anyhow since it is very early in the morning and I have to work tomorrow, I'm going to bed but will continue working my butt off tomorrow to make sure I complete my project before the deadline.

Goal: Day Six

Pages written: 101
Pages proof read: 20
Pages to go: 199
Days remaining: 127 days

I am sooo incredible pleased with my progress today, even though I'm not sure whether or not I'm actually getting any better from my cold or not. I somehow managed to push myself to finish proof reading page 20 before calling it a night and considering it is past midnight technically it is day seven but I won't proof read any more pages until tomorrow. :) As for my lesson of the day just if you put your mind to something you can achieve it. Even with feeling as crap as I do I was determined to finish a minimum of 18 pages and then once I reached 18 I thought why not make it an even 20...WOOHOO, way to go me :)

Determination + stubborness = proof reading more pages than originally planned too

Well, since I'm still sick, really tired and wanting to have fun tomorrow I'm off to bed so no long soulful speech tonight. Good night world.

Goal: Day Five

Pages written: 101
Pages proof read: 14
Pages to go: 199
Days remaining: 128 days

Today I was able to work on my book, much to my delight, and think I was able to make some great progress. Today I was reminded that feed back, whether good or bad can't be taken personally. Proof reading something that I put my heart and soul into I admit it is sometimes hard to be objective. We all have the same fear of rejection, and sometimes that rejection comes across while proof reading. I'm certainn that everyone has felt this way at some point in their life, when something they love either is not the right timing, the love is not returned or the love just lets you down. Sometimes when proof reading I feel a sense of unrequited love, a love that can never be returned, a love for my work which is so blind that my proof reading is almost pointless and I strive to see every possible reason to keep something that just doesn't fit. The movie playing in my head looks amazing, transferring the images from my head to the paper/word pad in this case should not honestly be that difficult....regrettably life does not always go according to what you want.

I am glad to say that all the feedback and comments I have had so far regarding my first book have given me the opportunity to adjust my sequel before it shows the same faults. Regrettably as i mentioned above, me proof reading my own book may not be the best idea, as I hold on so very tightly to things that I know could be made better. Thought for the night:

Stubborness + heart/soul in book = proof reading diseaster....
Let's hope I can fight my way passed my stubborness and release my grip on my book just enough so it can be AMAZING!!

Goal: Day Four...Continued

Pages written: 101
Pages proof read: 6
Pages to go: 199
Days remaining: 129 days

Continuation from the last post..was able to finish proof reading another 3 pages yesterday, August 26th which is a big improvment from the rest of the week. It is easier to focus on the positive by looking at what you have already accomplished and building on it. Instead of seeing all the pages you could have completed see the ones you have and be proud of it, even if the amount is smaller than you would like to have. It can also be a good thing to remember that the sequel or document will need to be proof read several times before it is ready to be published so do not be disappointed by having to do it while you are writing it, it is all to make it better in the end. Great proof reading comes from practice and usually an extra set of eyes or two. My BFF Laycie and her husband John make a great team for this, an example of which is her blog:

http://ljbfanfiction.blogspot.com/

I can only hope my writing can become as great as hers. Again it is sometime that only time will tell.

Goal: Four

Pages written: 101
Pages proof read: 3
Pages to go: 199
Days remaining: 129 days

Yes, you are reading the date right...I'm writing about day four on day five so expect two posts today. As I mentioned before distractions are just a part of life and regrettably getting sick is another one that is unavoidable. Due to illness I wasn't able to proof read any of my sequel yesterday. I always feel disappointed in myself when I don't have the time or energy to complete something that I put my mind into, its almost like stopping a hiking trip when you are only hours away from the top. Through all the distractions and backpedaling I have had to remember that I can't give up and I have to remain postive through everything, easier said than done some days. Well, at least I can rest, relax and hopefully get some more done in the coming days to make up for missing day four, August 25th.

Goal: Day Two/Three

Pages written: 101
Pages proof read: 3
Pages to go: 199
Days remaining: 130 days

Yesterday, Sunday August 23rd, was a celebration day so even though I'm sad I wasn't able to get to my sequel at all I am glad that I was able to see my family and friends in wishing me congratulations. Again I find myself lost for words as to what the occasion and comments meant to me. Thank you all for your kindness, support and encouragement.

Today, Monday August 24th, I was able to begin proof reading my sequel (about time, I know). I am hoping to proof read the first 101 pages before I move on with the new sections, but only time will tell for sure whether my patience pays off.

Goal: Day One

101 pages to proof read, 199 pages to go... and today I am sorry to say saw no working on my project AT ALL!!!

Being a parent, wife and having other distractions can be a huge, annoying drawback but I use all experiances in my life as inspiration for my book, or others that come to mind. It can be hard to find the motivation, determination and time to write any amount of text for a book, so you can really only do as much as you can each time you look at it....not forgetting those moments when you simply need to take a break from it. Even people, like me, who can think about nothing but writing every minute of every day need to take a break sometimes and though breaks are good, be sure to limit them so you can still be productive and keep on task.

Writing means a lot to me, yet nothing compares to the feeling I had this passed Thursday, August 20th when I officially became a US Citizen. I'm originally from England and moved here to the USA over 7 years ago. Honestly it was this huge distraction which caused my lack of project work today, since I was planning my PARTY which happens tomorrow. Being a writer its strange to have problems trying to find the words of the pride, excitement and other mixed emotions I have about being citizen. I've wanted this for as long as I can remember and now that it has happened my joy is epic. I won't start everyone yawning by telling you my struggles to this point but as mentioned above I use all my experiences for my writing.

From a project point of view, no work on the first day is not a good sign but I have a great feeling that this goal will be acheived and my sequel will be Amazing. *fingers crossed*

Look out for more blogs as I try to keep you updated each day.

New Blog Direction/Goal

Okay everyone,

After watching Julie & Julia I realized that my blog doesn't really have a meaning aside from bringing you information you can obtain from other websites, such as twilightmoms, so I need to do something different. I need to have something to say and something to write about so here I go.

I am 28 years old and have written a book. It is not ready to be published as it still needs editing etc, but I'm already working on the sequel.
My new objective for this site is to document my journey while finishing it. Here is the current sequel numbers:

Chapters: about six + the prolouge.
Pages: 101 but hasn't been proof read yet.
Objective: Complete a minimum of 300 pages
Deadline: Midnight on January 1st, 2010.
Conditions: Must be completed with continued storyline, no double spacing and has to be readable.

So there you have it. Today is August 22nd which gives me:
Approximately 133 days
199 pages to go....if all the current pages I have are usable.
Can I do it? Only time will tell.

Taylor Lautner & Kristen Stewart on Entertainment Weekly Cover

Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will be on the cover of this week’s Entertainment Weekly.

The issue will be available on August 14th.

With a new director, a new level of fame for stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, and a new set of washboard abs for Taylor Lautner, the second film in the Twilight series, due Nov. 20, promises even more swooning-opportunities for its fans. This week’s double issue of Entertainment Weekly places Stewart and Lautner on the cover, while revealing secrets from the New Moon set inside.

New Moon, a far different beast than Twilight, is steeped in heartbreak, focusing on the recovery Bella (Stewart) undergoes after Edward (Pattinson) breaks her heart and her new feelings for her friend Jacob (Lautner). Pattinson couldn’t be happier with his downsized role: “It was a stress-free job for three months,” says the actor. “All the pressure was on Taylor.”

WARNING: FAKE TWILIGHT TWITTER ACCOUNTS

Peter Facinelli has reported on his Twitter page that there a tons of fake Twilight Twitter accounts floating around. As he is a dedicated friend to his costars he wanted to set the record straight and provided the following information on who does and doesn't have a Twitter account:

Cast Members that DO:
Peter Facinelli (also on Twitter is Peter’s fabulous wife Jennie Garth)
The Volturi
Michael Sheen
Jamie Campbell Bower
Charlie Bewley
Forks Humans
Justin Chon
Christian Serratos
Billy Burke
Anna Kendrick
Quileute Tribe Members
Gil Birmingham
Other vampires
Rachelle Lefevre
Edi Gathegi
Jodelle Ferland
Directors
David Slade

The Twitters supposedly run by Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed are all fakes. Ways to tell: mislabeling of photos stating where & when the pics were taken, Tweeting while clearly performing , all created around the same date, claiming they are posting personal photos when in reality are actually recycled paparazzi shots, official sites of actors don’t list a Twitter, etc.

I hope this information is helpful to you.

TwiCon 2009

Hello again Twilighters/Fantasy fans,

We got back from TwiCon on Sunday, August 2nd and I have to say what a great time we had. Being the lucky ones that we are my BFF Laycie and I were able to meet several cast members, including the sexy Dr. Cullen and each one was amazing & down to earth. Dr. Carisle Cullen - Peter to most people has to be one of the funniest guys I have ever met. During the Q & A session he described how he taught himself to sew so that the scene in New Moon when he fixes Bella's arm it appears real. He decided, in all his wisdom, to use chicken and upon showing Bella - Kristen his handy work, she said 'I would never let you sew me up'. Also Jasper Hale - Jackson and Peter couldn't resist teasing each other the entire time a question was asked to either of them.

For me the entire convention was AMAZING! A little disorganized but hey its was their first time, so we expected it. The break out session were AWESOME. I attended Bella's Self Defense & A Dancing Lesson, where I learned a 1500's style dance..very cool. Being a writer all the creative writing sessions were important to me, particularly the How to Get your book published one. However I have to say that the Ultimate Highlight of the Convention was Friday, July 31st when I got to attend my very first concert EVER! I know at 28 its hard to believe I've never been to a concert before but sadly it is true. The Mitch Hansen Band was my first, closly followed that night by the 100 Monkeys, where we got to see Jackson perform. Both performances blew my away and I purchased each CD as soon as I could. Mitch and Jackson are both such talented people that it was one of the best days of my life and I would recommend their music to everyone.

If anyone would like more detailed information on any of the sessions I attended please let me know and I would be happy to post more information for you. To see my TwiCon pictures please see my facebook account under the name Alison Pliley.

Look forward to hearing from you

First Post

Welcome Fellow Twilighters & Fantasy Lovers To My New Blog.

Having never done this type of thing before please provide any feed back you have in ways I can better improve. I want to bring you the best possible blog with everything twilight and your feed back/suggestions will help me do that.
**Please know that any inappropriate comments or feed back will be removed and ignored.

First let me tell you abit about myself.
My name is Alison, I am 28 years old and my love for Twilight/all things Fantasy continues to grow each day. Growing up in England I heard about the Harry Potter books and several others at an older age, almost 15, but loved them from the first time I read through them. I've seen all the movies that are available to date several times and think they are just getting better and better. Great casting choices of the main three and all the additional cast, they continue to impress as with the movies.

I heard about the newest popular fantasy books Twilight in early 2008, so I'm still a newborn compared to some of you, from my very best friend Laycie. Honestly to being with I was a skeptic. I was used to the regular vampire books and movies being in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel generation and a book with a tame vampire didn't seem to be my kind of thing. Everything changed unexpectedly. One Sunday in November 2008, about three weeks before the movie came out, I was soooo bored that I couldn't think of anything to do then I noticed my mother in law's copy of the Twilight books on my book shelf, being lent to my husband to read, and I thought what the hay. After the Prologue I was hooked. By that Wednesday afternoon I was finished with all 4 books and wanting to read them all again.

Of course, now I was a Twilighter so the movie was something I had to see. Being from England I wasn't sure about Rob being cast as Edward at first, yet he made me proud. Kristen was also the perfect Bella. Overall I loved all the characters and their portrayals in the movie, except the humans. Now 10 months later I've lost count on how many times I have seen the movie and read all 4 books, including the Midnight Sun extract.

My goal is to bring people together through something we have in common. Twilight has already given me so much that I want to try and give back, so here is my blog.
I look forward to hearing from you all
